new space/new interface
hi to all , my last post was a year ago or something, right after the forum' s member mix somehow I managed to be left without a studio during all this time. changing house etc. finally I m on an decent attic starting to flex my production muscles again. so I m thinking of getting an interface. ther...

Re: Sapo Scream - RWise
long time no see RWise.
as I m hearing this track it is sounding a bit round indeed. but... it has the groove that you can hear in your production. the general feeling that I enjoy. placing the hats better would be nice.
a good track

Re: Secret sauces
There is no ilok guys, and I wouldn't suggest them if they were! The app is harmless and free. iLok license manager is still iLok nonsense. Why should I need to run 3rd party software in order to authorize and run something I've purchased? I'll just buy something else. The sad part is a lot of the ...

Re: Jordanneke - Ill Cosby
With that much space you could easily crank the delay and reverb further. Especially with the clap, I was waiting for the clap to get reverb-cranked every 4 bars or so. Bassline could be a bit more meaty. The track could use a string or a big pad towards the end. Btw it still sounds like house to m...

Re: Cloaked - Shuriken
overcooked. I m assuming that it was already loud enough when you uploaded on SC. consider that every place like SC mixcloud etc is using different algorithms to process the sound. SC specifically is adding a lot of artifacts. file is being uploaded and then it is transcoded meaning in lower resolut...

Re: SHIDZO - Tacker
by ''there is no bass'' in meant there isn' t something taking the role of the bass like a sample or synth or whatever. there is a lot of low frequencies of course it s obvious but that s like it s only the reverb tail of the kick , like a substitute of bass. OP said that s a tom running under the k...

Re: All your gear is obsolete, passe and chauvinistic
well, if you don t know how to divide time and the relation of time to music, I don t think you going to have the skills or the focus to educate yourself and learn about sound synthesis, not to mention the learning curve to teach one to use a computer with all the peripherals involved and maintain i...

Re: Concrete Island - Galactic Acid
Hi G,
you know I liked Cosmopolis it got nostalgic like a proper synthwave must be imo!
this specific track is melting enough as acid should be.
so yeah I think you know what you doing!

Re: SHIDZO - Tacker
I don't have a subwoofer, my monitors go down to somewhere around 50Hz, the headphones I have go further, they do 18Hz. I haven't treated my room at all, like nothing that absorbs or diffuses, I just spent hours setting the monitors up in the right angle and hight. Like I said, I use to listen to r...

Re: SHIDZO - Tacker
low end can be really confusing but eventually you re going to be more confident as to know when is enough or not. monitoring the low end is the hard part. it depends on how low your monitors can go and of course the environment that is being reproduced. these two factor are usually the common thing...

Re: SHIDZO - Tacker
really nice set of sounds. and the arrangement is creative too. but..the low end is low in volume. first the kick is kind of lost and it s like there s no bass.(actually I think there is no bass if that was intended ) I think I understand what is your vision with this track. try making the kick the ...

Re: Custom Needs
Because essentially you make the audio more fragile every time you process it, so the better you can get it in the mix, the better results you'll get in the master. Anyway, im sure you already know some of them points but its good to reiterate the obvious sometimes. :) that. It is always comes to t...

Re: Squil - Never Know
I like the rhythm of it. to my skills i don t here anything technical issues of course.
now on the idea itself just a bit weird that the track is getting suddenly kinda empty to some points.
but it is good overall.
and welcome to the techno side!

Re: Custom Needs
I agree with the concept that you should not get hung on the numbers. I don t have any issue getting everything loud though, my problem is finding the right balance on my attempt to home master(?) the track. meaning getting out freqs that are dominant and allow the overall loudness go higher without...

well yes I think i have to go back in the mix and chase my tail something I dont really enjoy. the best tracks I ve made were created literally on one go. if I have to back and fix things usually it s not working. but again there is this big thing I have to educate myself to, and it s called transie...

Re: dubdub - 537
personally I think i have an issue with transients lately maybe because i tried to make H hats heavy music, going away from straightforward techno ! so maybe I dont have the right to talk about transients , but yes the transients are lacking a bit. and maybe tame the bass. so nothing that haven t al...

the lows are definitely taking over more than they should. maybe eq more on the kick. it s very dominating but there is something not sitting right. if you use any kind of correction that would be exposed immediately. are you using one? i agree the bass is too controlled. Imo if you correct the domi...
