As is tradition. And, may I add, a commendable display of moral virtue for your cats.Lost to the Void wrote: ↑Fri Nov 11, 2022 2:26 pm...we got married, in a cave with bats, next to an underground lake, by a witch...

Resonic: nice little freebie audio player
This is worth look - https://resonic.at/player Just an audio player, but a nice one. Best thing for me is, when you open one file it automatically makes a playlist of all the other audio files in that folder. It's also got a waveform display. You can quickly skip up and down the playlist and forward...

Re: Doing anything nice for Xmas.. Plans / Presents?
I think my girlfriend has got me something big this year...
She tested positive on Saturday. I was negative at the time but likely won't stay that way for long. PCR is in the post.
It's beginning to look a lot like Omichristmas.

Re: VST alternative to Reason's Beat Map (algorithmic drum sequencer)
Thanks very much for the suggestions. Been working through them. instanthaus is a good one. Sits in front of a midi instrument so no routing faff. And very easy to use. But it's limited to housey housey patterns, can't get it to go too crazy. xln xo - the map of samples is a great idea. I ended up ...

VST alternative to Reason's Beat Map (algorithmic drum sequencer)
That's what I'm looking for. Been trying out the Reason rack plugin in Ableton and really like this thing. It rapidly spews out loads of drum patterns I would never come up with manually. Hella fun. But I think you can only get it as part of the full Reason package and I'm not interested in the rest...

Guitar amp and FX plugins like Amplitube and Amp Room
Recently discovered the joys of Ableton's Amp effect, it can turn a soft synth into a whole different animal. I'd like to explore some other options in this department. I noticed a techno producer I admire using Softube's Amp Room. And it's on sale for the next few days, for €100 ish. I have the dem...

Re: Clubs reopening
The UK does seem to be heading for an almighty clusterfuck. Wouldn't be at all surprised if there's a U-turn on clubs in the near future. It would fit the government's MO of baseless optimism and changing the rules at precisely the worst time. It seems like those of us with only a single vaccine dos...

Clubs reopening
Nightclubs are back on the 19th July for those of us in the UK. No restrictions, apparently. Has anyone got UK techno plans? What's on?
Any non-UK people been to a gig yet? How was it?
Not sure I'm ready for close quarters indoor dancing yet.

Love, Death & Robots. Sci fi-ish Animated shorts. You can watch a whole series in an hour or so. I loved it.

Re: Netflix tips
There's a new Bo Burnham special on Netflix, called Inside. Everything is done by himself and filmed in one room. Great idea if you want to laugh and possibly feel depressed at the same time. Very good. He seems right up there on the madness-genius scale. Imagine writing, composing the music for an...

Re: Global mod matrix for ableton
These look very nice. I find it much nicer using Ableton's modulators than those built into VSTs. The same, familiar controls every time. But it can get messy when you try to modulate the modulators. This is a great idea.

Re: EQing out the resonances
I don't think short cuts ever really provide a good long term solution. Production and mixing is time consuming, if you aren't up for that, outsource it. Think I'll outsource the walking of my dog instead, to claw back some production time. She definitely thinks my EQ needs work. Thanks for the sag...

Re: EQing out the resonances
Shit, I missed Lost to the Void's last post before posting mine. Given that addresses my query to a large extent, the remaining question is - can automation of boring production tasks, like dealing with resonance, save time and make production more fun without compromising the quality of the music w...
